Happy List 1
To "rest" my addled brain in between two corporate cases (really, my brain can only take so much), and since I like making up lists, here's a list of stuff that made me happy the past few days:
(1) Meeting up with law school friends. There was a time that we met up, and drank, every week even after passing the Bar. Somehow, work got in the way. I can't quite remember what we were laughing about at one point, but I remember that it was the first time in weeks that my belly hurt from laughing.
(2) Hubby cleaning the house while I slept. I've been feeling so sleep-deprived lately. I don't know if I have insomnia but I try to be in bed by 10PM but I usually fall asleep at around 12MN or 1AM. Last Saturday, I got up at 9AM to make breakfast, ate, then took a nap which stretched until 3PM. Gah. Then I woke up to a clean house weee!
(3) Blue almost-cloudless sky. Love seeing this while walking to work.
(4) Hearing the buzzing in the trees. On the way to work, I pass through a path lined with trees. The past couple of mornings, I've been hearing cicadas, or what I believe are cicadas, buzzing. Reminds me of growing up in the province.
(5) New glasses and having them adjusted. When I picked up my new glasses, I did not try them on immediately. When I got home, I realized that they kept slipping down my nose, which is especially annoying while cooking. I was afraid they won't be adjusted because they're made of plastic, but after a trip to the optical shop, no more slipping yay!
(6) A seat in the LRT and on the shuttle. If you commute, you know why this is a happy thing.
(7) My nephew-in-law saying "Tata" and hugging me. I love kids! I love baby hugs! I'm trying to teach him to say "Tita" but what he says is "Tata".
(8) The SC Canteen dinuguan. I used to not eat diniuguan until I tried their version.
(9) Restful sleep. As earlier mentioned, I'm having trouble sleeping. Yet last Tuesday, I fell asleep quickly. Maybe because I was unable to take the usual hour-long nap on the shuttle as I was tuned in to the Coronavela on radio haha.
(10) Fresh bedsheets!

Hipster
I read the word "hipster" every now and then. I confess that I don't really know what it means, just that sometimes, it seems like a bad thing. My 18-year old sister told me it refers to someone who likes old or vintage stuff. I guess that's the sugar-coated version.
Anyhoo, my eyeglasses are a few years old so I thought it was time for new ones. I didn't want to get serious lawyerly ones so I got this pair:
Sister sez totally hipster. Hope it's the good kind of hipster.

Working from Home
Pros:
1. I can work wearing my pajamas.
2. I don't miss shows like "Modern Family" or movies like "Peter Pan". (Gawd, I can't bring myself to watch the impeachment proceedings.)
3. I can control the room temperature. (My office mates like working to Siberia-like weather.)
4. I don't have to deal with pushy LRT and jeep passengers.
5. I can nap without guilt.
Cons:
1. A cup-noodle lunch.
2. I have no one to talk to haha.
3. It's so hot but I don't want to switch on the aircon to save on the electricity bill.
4. Chores are begging to be done.
5. No trolling around Trinoma. Boo hoo.

Blogger Blues
It's that time of the... Well, it's that time again, when I ask myself why am I keeping a blog when I don't update often. I wish I can say that I don't have time, but heck, I have lots of time. Besides, most of the bloggers I follow are working moms (hello Anna, Frances and Daphne) and they blog religiously.
When I first started blogging - a decade ago, yikes - I noticed that I blogged more when I'm unhappy. Granted, most of my posts were song lyrics or angsty ones, but darn it, I was blogging! I'm kinda not happy with one aspect of my life right now (clue: not marriage, family or friendships), but the blogging juice has run dry.
And while I was eating my dinner in the smoky food court of Trinoma , it hit me: my life is too boring to blog about. On one hand, I am thankful my life's boring: no illnesses, no major drama. But it ain't good for my blog.
Maybe I should go out more, do more. I'm following a couple of online accounts of 18-year-olds and I noticed that they liked posting photos of them sticking their tongues out. Nothing earth-shaking but they sure have a lot of such photos.
Maybe I should stick my tongue out once in a while.
