Looking For: Great Taste Trio Cappuccino

I like this flavor (instant, how pedestrian hehe) because it's not strong and does not make my pee smell like coffee (TMI). In the years that I've been buying it, there has been a couple of times that I can't find it anywhere. But after a week or two, it shows up on supermarket shelves. I guess some are hoarding it the way I do.

Lately though I can't find it anywhere. Yesterday, I was down to my last two. Then I drank one in the afternoon. Oh my.

Payless-er

Payless Shoe Source has become one of my fave shoe haunts because the shoes are remarkably sturdy compared to other brands in the same price range. I hate shoes with soles that crack in the middle after a short time. My Payless shoes, even the flats, have thick soles that seem to withstand all the walking I do.

Since I commute to work, I wear flats 99% of the time. Lately though, my feet hurt, especially my heels. I figured it must be the constant close contact with the ground. I was thisclose to buying FitFlops but I could not reconcile the fact that they are basically tsinelas with the price tag. I resolved to buy low low heels.

So I went to Payless. They are currently on sale, and within minutes, I zoomed in on this pair worth... wait for it... P490!!!

With that price, I won't feel so bad running it to the ground! I heart Payless! :)

Wishy Washi

Pardon the cheesy title. There are times that I attempt to be crafty shmarty. For our wedding, I DIY-ed our kissing bells. I wanted to DIY the lining of our wedding invites but I didn't have enough space for supplies and such.

I recently went through our Japan pictures and selected a few for printing. I decided it'd be more fun to place some in a scrapbook. Then, in one of the crafty blogs I read, I saw washi tapes and found them too cool for words. The blog directed me to http://www.heykessy.com.

I ordered the Red Stack and the Cherry Blossoms print and they arrived yesterday.

Loving the personal details.

So cute!

Tried 'em on my Starbucks planner. Cute, but my skills definitely need improvement. :D Spot the cherry blossom print!

Ahhh, can't wait to get started on that scrapbook!!!

Sunday Snippets

The new curtains from Landmark are more sheer than expected. I guess this means an earlier
waking up time.

Leftover apple pie. Yum.

Loving the Olympus PEN (E-PL1)

I first heard about Olympus PEN cameras from Third World Nerd and Daphne Paez. My initial reaction was, "Oh cute" because the digital cameras look like film cameras. However, my shooting juju was running low so I moved on. Then about a month ago, hubby mentioned that the first models of Olympus PEN cameras are really affordable in Japan. I told him to get some because I kept reading about the cameras in celebrity blogs. Word is, the Olympus PEN is as light as a point-and-shoot camera but produces DSLR-quality photos. I was sold immediately.

A couple of PENs arrived a couple of weeks ago. At first, I was going to try the Olympus E-P1, but it does not have built-in flash.

The Olympus E-P1

So I happily "borrowed" the E-PL1, L for Lite. It's a stripped down version as some of the control buttons were removed. Read this if you relish reading the technical lowdown.

I've used the PEN1 Lite a couple of times but I love it already. It is as light as a point-and-shoot camera but the quality of the photos are top-notch. It also shoots video. I'm still figuring out how to work the controls and functions because these are waaay different from the Nikon and Canon cameras that I'm used to.

My favorite thing is the in-camera Art Filters. The PEN1 Lite has 6.

Dapitan Arcade

Hubby and I have been meaning to replace our plastic laundry hampers with rattan ones. We've seen nice ones in the furniture stores in the gas stations along NLEX but it's either we don't have enough cash or enough space in the car for them. We've heard of Dapitan Arcade, and last rainy Sunday, we decided to finally check it out.

Dapitan Arcade is located along Dapitan St. cor. Kanlaon St. The arcade is in one small building with three rows of stalls. There are other stalls infront and beside it. At first, we could not find any rattan hampers, prolly because most of the stalls still sold Christmas stuff. Further down the street, we saw Dapitan Tiangge and these greeted us:

We actually wanted dark-stained rattan but we could just have these stained later. There's no fabric lining, too, though. Haggled from P380 each to P700 for two.

I wanted another round in the Arcade for knicknacks. There are lots of ceramic plates but I was not in the mood for plates. I wanted to buy ceramic balls for our center table but hubby said sayang our old decor. So I comforted myself with these marble eggs for P100.

I also got these small treasure chests for my earrings and watches:

I noticed that a lot of the stalls were closed, maybe because it was raining. I think I'm gonna return for those ceramic balls and plates soon.###

Obligatory Explanatory Post

This is my 6th blog with Blogger. One has been made private and the rest are more or less inactive, if not dead. I switched to Wordpress a couple of months back but I missed Blogger's widgets. As with my other blogs, expect pictures, et cetera. :)
