Kennedy Space Center

I'm devoting a separate post for this because we loved this place! Hubby and I are geeks but he's a bigger science nerd that I am. In fact, it was his idea to have "outer space" as theme for P's first birthday. Too bad I forgot to pack P's astronaut costume and hubby's NASA shirt. Sayang!

Anyhoo, the Kennedy Space Center is a two-hour drive from BIL's house in Ocala. A two-hour drive in the USA, we've learned, is farrr, considering we took the Interstate.

We're heeeere!

Daddy inside a mock-up capsule. He enjoyed NASA more!

From the Visitor Complex, we boarded a bus to the Apollo/Saturn V Center. We passed by the Vehicle Assembly Building where large space vehicles are assembled. It is the largest single-storey building in the world.

We spent most of our time at the Apollo/Saturn V Center where we watched short films of launches, had lunch and viewed the exhibits. There was also a souvenir shop where I had to restrain myself haha, because there were cute space thingies. Bought magnets and a keychain with a tiny astronaut and space shuttle.

Bangad cousins with Saturn V behind them.

A touching a piece of moon rock.

What to wear when you need space. (I crack myself up haha.)

Apollo 14's Kitty Hawk.

We then boarded the bus back to the Visitor Complex. We watched Eyes on the Universe at the Astronaut Encounter Center and Journey to Space at the iMax theater. I breastfed P during both shows haha, he even fell asleep during the Eyes on the Universe. He cried while we watched Journey to Space though with all of the videos on rocket launches. The Complex closes at 7PM, unfortunately, we failed to visit the Space Shuttle Atlantis building. Hope we can come back again soon, maybe even witness a rocket launch!
